Bowers & Wilkins 683 s2 5.1 Home Theatre Package with 685s2
Bowers & Wilkins 683 S2 3 way S2 FloorStanding Speakers
The largest speaker in the new 600 Series delivers outstanding power, accuracy and musicality. The floorstander features the new Decoupled Double Dome tweeter, an FST™ midrange driver and new Dual Layer aluminium bass drivers. The result is a loudspeaker ideal for both high-performance stereo and surround sound applications even in larger rooms, delivering serious performance and amazing value.
Bowers & Wilkins 685 S2 Bookshelf Speakers
At home on either a stand or bookshelf, the versatile new 685 delivers outstanding performance. Perfectly sized for most rooms, it combines new Decoupled Double Dome tweeters, Kevlar® cones and Anti-Resonance Plugs, with the value for which the 600 Series is renowned. The Decoupled Double Dome tweeter found in the 685 – and the rest of the new 600 Series – is a technology taken straight from our award-winning CM10 speaker. The dual-layer design combines a thin aluminium dome for lightness and a thicker aluminium ring for rigidity. The result is absolutely stunning clarity and tonal purity. The tweeter is also decoupled from the main cabinet, kept physically separate in its own cavity with a ring of gel cushioning it from vibrations. This improves imaging and dispersion for a more natural, spacious treble.
Bowers & Wilkins HTM61 S2 3 way Centre Speaker
The larger of two centre channels in the new 600 Series, the HTM61 is ideal for delivering important dialogue in a room-filling, high-performance home theatre system. This is the second model in the new 600 Series to see a significant change to the driver complement. The outgoing HTM61 is a 3-way system, but only had a single bass driver. Here, we follow the line-up of the CM Centre 2, with two 6.5-in bass drivers and a smaller FST™ midrange. The Decoupled Double Dome Tweeter has also been moved upwards, to better align with the tweeters of the 683, which would make a great partner for this speaker in home theatre system. Like the HTM62, the ports are at the rear. This concept was retained for the centre speakers because of the more restrictive requirements on frontal area.
B&W ASW610XP 10" Active Subwoofer
The ASW610XP, the most powerful of the 600 Series subwoofers, delivers the finishing touch – or finishing thump – to a hi-fi or home theatre system for larger rooms. Serious bass power is developed in a compact cabinet thanks to the unit’s twin 200W amplifiers and dual voice coil, long-throw 250mm driver. Equipped with audiophile-standard Class D circuitry, the unit remains cool and efficient under pressure.
